Happy 2012

What I hope to accomplish as a wife, mommy, and 30-year-old in 2012

5. Be creative about redecorating the house and keeping it organized

4. Surprise Duncan with something...don't know what yet, but he deserves something fun, creative, and spontaneous...

3. Write a children's book about Teddy & Lincoln

2. Lose 8 pounds (that last bit of baby fat) by my 30th birthday

1. Spend more time in quiet devotion and prayer- this will definitely make me a better wife, mommy, and woman of God.

Christmas with a Toddler

Why you can't turn your back on a 2- year old

5. The Nutcrackers do more than stand guard...they learn to fly across the room

4. The wrapping paper unrolls across the entire living room floor

3. The tape, ribbon...and SCISSORS go missing....uh-oh

2. Little brother may or may not have his first solid food- christmas cookie crumbs...

1. The Christmas tree will DEFINITELY Fall over!

New Words

Top 5 Reasons that Teddy needs to learn some new words...

5. "Dog Poo" is what we pick up with a shovel--not the shovel itself

4. "Poo gone" is actually called a toilet

3. "uh-oh, I go Poo" can be easily mistaken for a fart

2. "baby poo... I put in ewwww" means he'll put the diaper in the trash

1. "Mama go Poo?" is REALLY embarrassing when everyone in Target hears you say it!!!!!

Thankful for my boys!

Top 5 reasons I'm thankful for Duncan, Teddy & Lincoln:

5. Duncan makes me feel beautiful even when I don't get a shower

4. Teddy kisses my boo-boos- even the ones on my feet

3. Lincoln saves his big diaper explosions for his dad to change

2. Duncan sacrifices sleep, his sanity, and organization in order to take care of the boys all day long- and then go off to full-time work.

1. Their smiles remind me of the amazing blessing it is to be a mommy and wife.

I love you!

Top 5 Mall Observations

Our trip to the mall today included the following events:

5. Forcing Teddy to wear his socks in the play area- he insists that bare feet are better (wonder where he gets that?)

4. Fitting into the tiny train caboose (while wearing Lincoln in the B'jorn) and riding around the food court--twice!

3. Thanking the wonderful employees at Vera Bradley for holding Lincoln while I searched for my wallet among all the junk in our stroller. (Double Stroller- Double junk!)

2. Laughing while rolling my eyes when another mom told Teddy, after he gently hugged her crawling daughter- "let's remove ourselves from this situation"- This in itself could have a top 5 list of the thoughts going on in my head....

1. Buying the first of many Christmas gifts for the season!

Family of Four

It's about time I update this--considering, we've had a 4th member of our family for 6 months now.

As you can see by the new photo, we had our first family photo shoot this past weekend. With Lincoln joining our family and Teddy turning 2, we thought it would be fun to get some wild and crazy pics of the 4 of us- and I believe Riley, our crazy Corgie-Husky mix is in a few of the shots.

So, I think I'm going to try to do Top 5 lists for my posts on the blog and here are my Top 5 reasons why:

5. I love making lists
4. Five items is easier than the typical Top TEN
3. I think I might update the blog more often if I do it this way
2.  I only have time for lists- not full paragraphs... or even complete thoughts
1. It's easy for you to read and laugh about....hopefully

Here's to less epic fails and more happy trails...
